The Story Behind Saga Interiors…

My love for design began long before I ever knew the word “interior.”

When I was six, my family fled Iran during the Iran–Iraq war and started over in Gothenburg, Sweden. We left behind everything that once felt familiar and steady — and landed in a quiet apartment that was completely stark. Beige walls. Beige floors. Beige ceiling… beige everywhere.

Even at six, I understood something instinctively: we didn’t just need a place to live. We needed a place that felt safe. We needed hope back in the room.

So every single day, I asked my mom if we could paint the apartment sky blue, my favorite color. With the kind of persistence only a determined child can pull off, I wore her down. And one day, she finally said yes.

That sky-blue paint changed everything. The apartment didn’t just look different — it felt different. It became ours. It became a sanctuary. And in that moment, I learned something I’ve carried ever since:

Design is more than how a space looks.
It’s how a space holds you.
It’s how it supports your life, your rhythm, your values, and the version of yourself you’re becoming.

That belief is why I named my studio Saga Interiors. In Swedish, “Saga” means story or fairy tale. It’s a quiet nod to my first sanctuary, and to the idea that every home should reflect the story of the people living inside it.

The path that brought me here

Before I launched Saga Interiors, I spent over 15 years in corporate America at a Fortune 500 company, where I genuinely loved what I did. I grew into a master of high-level project management, people leadership, organization, and communication — skills that now quietly power the seamless experience I create for my clients.

But the dream I carried for years was to build something of my own. So in 2016, I founded Saga Interiors, starting with a little girl’s bedroom and growing into the full-service design of multi-million dollar residences, with projects featured in a range of design and lifestyle publications.

What I do differently

My clients often tell me I understand what they want… even when they don’t have the words yet. With a background in psychology, I’m able to listen between the lines, understanding practical needs, emotional needs, and personal style. I also navigate differing preferences within a couple or family with ease, creating cohesion without compromise.

I’m known for being intuitive, meticulous, warm, and engaging, and for building relationships that last. Many of my clients return again and again as life evolves: new homes, growing families, working-from-home shifts, renovations, and refreshes.

My signature style

My work is best described as warm modern — elevated, inviting, and never trend-chasing. It draws from the rich traditions of my Persian heritage, the calm minimalism and reverence for light and materials rooted in my Scandinavian upbringing, and a deep appreciation for the relaxed sophistication of California living — where light, landscape, and an indoor-outdoor sensibility shape the experience of home.

I design homes that feel beautiful and grounded: spaces that photograph well, but more importantly, feel incredible to live in.

The experience

My process is curated, calm, and concierge-level. My team and I handle details, timelines, and decision fatigue so you can actually enjoy the transformation.

If you’re looking for someone to simply make your space beautiful, there are many talented designers who can do that. But if you want a designer who will translate your taste, lifestyle, and story into a home that feels effortless, elevated, and deeply personal…

I’d love to meet you.
